Muscle pain and soreness occurs when something is wrong with your body and the muscles are not responding correctly. A number of things can cause muscle pain and soreness. In fact, there are so many different factors involving these pains that it is difficult to properly indentify what has caused the pain. Joint pain and muscle pain should be checked immediately by a medical professional because it could be signs of something worse.

- Overtraining your body during workouts or sports training.

- Osteoporosis
- A hairline fracture or bone fracture of any kind.
- Thyroid Disease
- Cancer
- Weakened muscles due to lack of activity. Sometimes exercise is required as part of treatment.
- Restless Leg Syndrome
- Treatment Options:
- Physical therapy for the affected individual.
- Medications to relieve inflammation.
- Surgery to remove a problem from the muscle or joint, or to repair one of those.
- A combination of all three things above.
